Derby cars, a short-lived venture, emerged from the ashes of the French Mathis firm in the late 1920s.
The brainchild of Mathis's former UK concessionaire, the company aimed to produce high-quality, sporting automobiles.
A lesser-known tale involves the 1931 Derby Miller, a collaboration with American engineer Harry Miller. The ambitious project sought to create a world-class racing car, but sadly, it never achieved its full potential due to financial constraints.
