David Brown Ltd. acquired Aston Martin in 1947 and Lagonda in 1948. The DB series of Aston Martins, named after David Brown, became iconic.
A lesser-known fact: David Brown initially wanted to name the DB1 the "Atom 2," following up on Aston Martin's pre-war prototype. However, he was convinced to use his initials, marking the start of the DB lineage.
