Connaught was a British Formula One and sports car manufacturer that competed in the 1950s.

The name "Connaught" was derived from Continental Autos, a Surrey garage that maintained ERA racing cars.

A lesser-known story: Connaught almost clinched a major upset at the 1955 Italian Grand Prix.

Their Type B, driven by Tony Brooks, was leading the race, challenging the dominant Mercedes-Benz and Ferraris.

Unfortunately, a mechanical issue forced Brooks to retire, denying Connaught a potentially historic victory.
