Clément-Gladiator, a French manufacturer, emerged from a bicycle company. Adolphe Clément-Bayard partnered with Gladiator, a bicycle firm, around 1896.
They ventured into automobiles, producing vehicles under the Clément-Gladiator name. Later, the marques separated. Clément-Bayard continued independently.
Did you know Clément-Bayard built airships? In 1908, they constructed the "Clément-Bayard No. 1," the first airship sold to the French Army. It marked their diverse engineering capabilities.
