Chenard & Walcker, a French car maker, started in 1900.
Ernest Chenard and Henri Walcker founded it.
They initially made bicycles, then cars.
Post WWI, they were known for innovative engineering.
The "Tank," a streamlined race car, was a highlight.
Chenard & Walcker won the 1925 Le Mans 24 Hours.
Later, they partnered with Chausson, then Peugeot.
Production ceased in 1950.
Few know Chenard & Walcker used aluminum extensively in their early models.
This was unusual for the time.
It boosted performance.
It also reflected their commitment to advanced design.
