Calcott, founded in Coventry by John Calcott, initially produced bicycles, transitioning to motorcycles around 1904 and cars by 1913.
During WWI, Calcott contributed to the war effort.
Post-war, they focused on light cars, gaining a reputation for quality.
In 1928, Singer Motors acquired Calcott, ceasing production under its own name in 1935.
A lesser-known fact: Calcott once supplied cars to the British Royal Family. Queen Mary, consort to King George V, owned and frequently used a Calcott, appreciating its reliability and comfort for personal transportation.
