British Salmson emerged in 1934, a venture by aircraft engine maker Salmson.
They aimed to produce refined, smaller-engined cars. Their initial model was the S4C, featuring an 1182cc twin overhead camshaft engine.
Despite promising designs and engineering, production was limited.
The company ceased car production in 1939 due to the outbreak of World War II.
A little-known fact: British Salmson cars were favored by some British racing drivers. They appreciated the cars' nimble handling and advanced engine design for their time. This made them competitive in smaller racing events.
