Giovanni Bertone founded the company. Bertone gained prominence designing for Alfa Romeo, Fiat, and Lancia.
Bertone's designs include the Lamborghini Countach and Diablo. The company faced financial difficulties and ceased independent operations in 2014.
Did you know Bertone designed and built a fully functional prototype of a sports car called the Ramarro for Chevrolet in 1984? It showcased advanced aerodynamics and futuristic styling. The Ramarro never went into production, but its design influenced later GM vehicles.
