Bedford, a British vehicle manufacturer, was established in 1930 as a subsidiary of Vauxhall Motors, itself owned by General Motors.
Bedford mainly produced commercial vehicles, vans, and trucks, but also built buses and fire engines. During World War II, Bedford supplied military vehicles.
A little-known fact: In the 1930s, Bedford experimented with art deco designs for its buses, moving away from the more utilitarian styles of the time. These buses, though short-lived, showcased a unique blend of functionality and aesthetic flair.
