Austro-Daimler, an Austrian car manufacturer, emerged in 1899 as a subsidiary of Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft.
During World War I, Austro-Daimler produced military vehicles. Post-war, they focused on luxury cars.
Ferdinand Porsche joined in 1923, designing innovative models like the "Sascha."
A lesser-known tale: In the 1930s, Austro-Daimler faced financial difficulties and merged with Steyr. Despite the merger, the Austro-Daimler name briefly reappeared on some models before disappearing altogether.
