Every Model
Amphicar, the brainchild of Hans Trippel, uniquely combined car and boat. Produced in Germany from 1961-1968, it was the only mass-produced civilian amphibious car. Around 3,878 were made, most exported to the US.
One quirky tale: President Lyndon B. Johnson owned an Amphicar. He loved startling guests by driving it into the Pedernales River on his ranch, pretending the brakes had failed.
