Tell Me More
Designed by Cyril Cannell of Manx Peel Engineering Company, the Peel P50 was manufactured from 1962 to 1965. It was advertised as the smallest production car ever made.
A single door and headlight, and three wheels, defined the car. Weighing only 130 pounds, it lacked a reverse gear. To maneuver, drivers could lift the car using a handle on the rear and physically rotate it.
There is no direct successor to the Peel P50.
Few know that Peel also produced a slightly larger two-seater model, the Trident. It featured a bubble top and a similar three-wheeled design. While not a direct successor, it expanded Peel's microcar offerings.
