MINI MOKE

Designed by Sir Alec Issigonis of British Motor Corporation (BMC), the Mini Moke was intended as a light military vehicle. Due to its low power and ground clearance, it was rejected for military use.

BMC marketed it as a civilian vehicle from 1964-1968. Production continued in Australia, Portugal, and Italy.

The Moke gained popularity as a recreational vehicle, especially in sunny, coastal areas. It became a cultural icon in places like the Caribbean.

There was no direct successor, but the Mini brand continued under BMW.

Here's a little-known fact: the Beach Boys owned several Mini Mokes. They were often seen driving around in them in California. The Moke became associated with their carefree, sunny image.
