MERCEDES-BENZ CLK 430

The Mercedes-Benz CLK 430, part of the C208/A208 series, debuted in 1997. It offered a blend of luxury and performance.

The CLK was initially intended to be a C-Class derivative, but it was based on the W202 C-Class chassis with styling cues from the E-Class.

The CLK 430 was introduced in 1999, featuring a 4.3-liter V8 engine.

Its successor was the C209 CLK-Class, launched in 2002.

A little-known fact: The CLK's design was influenced by a sketch drawn on a napkin by a Mercedes designer during a flight. This spontaneous idea captured the essence of what the CLK would become.
