MERCEDES-BENZ CLK 230

The Mercedes-Benz CLK 230 Kompressor, part of the W208 series, debuted in 1997. It offered a blend of sporty design and luxury. The "Kompressor" indicated a supercharged engine, enhancing performance.

The CLK was meant to be a convertible version of the C-Class, but it was actually based on the W202 C-Class platform, while featuring styling cues from the E-Class.

The CLK 230 was succeeded by the CLK 200 Kompressor in the W209 series.

A little-known fact: the CLK's design was initially conceived as a potential successor to the iconic W124 E-Class Coupe, but Mercedes decided to position it as a separate, more accessible coupe line.
