After the Renault Duster Oroch presented in 2014, the Renault Alaskan Concept, unveiled in Paris in 2015, was the second pick-up offered by the manufacturer.

With larger dimensions than the Oroch and based on the same platform as the Nissan Navara and the Mercedes X-Class, it prefigured the production version: launched in 2017, this was sold first in South America before being distributed in Europe.

It is naturally equipped with four-wheel drive, an essential feature in its key target markets, where the transport routes were as often dirt tracks as paved roads.
