Launched in 1945, the TC Midget was the first post-war MG, although it was quite similar to the pre-war TB, sharing the same pushrod-OHV engine. However, it had a slightly higher compression ratio of 7.4:1 giving 54.5bhp (40.6 kW) at 5,200rpm; the use of more modern interior elements also allowed for a wider cockpit.
