This 1969 Jaguar XKE is a Series II roadster that is finished in red over tan vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Features include a black soft top and boot, 15″ wire wheels, and Smiths instrumentation. The car reportedly spent its life in California and was acquired by the current owner in 2012. This XKE roadster is now offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of the owner with an original purchase order, manufacturer’s literature, historical registration information, service records, and a clean California title. The body is painted red and the black soft top is shown raised and lowered in the gallery below. A matching convertible top boot is included in the sale. Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels are mounted with 185-series radial Michelin X redline tires. Braking is accomplished by four-wheel discs. The brake fluid was replaced in September 2021. A spare wheel and a jack reside in the trunk along with a fire extinguisher. The interior features bucket seats with tan vinyl upholstery and trim that is complemented by darker carpets protected by black all-weather floor mats. The Blaupunkt cassette stereo and the hazard light switch are currently inoperative. A wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer as well as an analog clock and auxiliary gauges in the center of the dash. An aftermarket oil pressure gauge has been fitted inside the locking glove compartment. The five-digit odometer shows 28k miles. True mileage is unknown. The 4.2-liter inline-six was overhauled in 1986 and is equipped with dual Stromberg carburetors. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Service performed in September 2021 reportedly included performing an oil change and coolant flush, fitting an electronic ignition system, and replacing the following components: The car is titled with the number “J691R7246,” the last six digits of which match the car number listed on the data plate above. The original purchase order shows a total cash price of $6,473.65. Two black California license plates, manufacturer’s literature, two maintenance books with service records dating back to 1973, and historical registrations are included in the sale.
