This International Harvester Scout II is a Canadian-market example that was built on May 21, 1980 and is said to have remained under original ownership in Nova Scotia until being moved to Ontario by its second owner in 2019 and acquired by the seller in 2020. The truck is finished in black with silver stripes over plaid interior upholstery, and power comes from a 304ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Additional features include clearance and fog lights, a period AM/FM cassette player, locking front hubs, adjustable rear air suspension, a trailer and more. The front shocks, brakes, battery, fluids, and door seals are said to have been replaced, and the carburetor was rebuilt in July 2020. This final-year Scout II is offered with a line setting ticket, manufacturer’s literature, and Quebec registration in the seller’s name. The truck was repainted in black with factory-style silver stripes approximately 20 years ago according to the seller. Features include front bumper overriders and fog lights, clearance lights, sliding rear quarter windows, a roof rack, running boards, and a rear step bumper with a receiver hitch. New door seals were installed under the seller’s ownership. Black 15″ five-lug steel wheels are mounted over manually-locking hubs up front and wear Michelin LTX M/S tires with 2001 date codes. The truck has been fitted with adjustable rear air suspension, and other replacement parts reportedly include the front shocks, left front ball joints, and brake pads and rotors, one caliper, rear shoes and springs. The interior is trimmed in Highland Blue vinyl with black plaid cloth inserts and matching door panels. Features include rubber floor coverings, a center console, and a period AM/FM/cassette player. The front right quarter window is missing a knob, the cruise control system has been removed, there are tears in the driver’s door pocket and headliner, and the horn switch has been relocated to a button on the dashboard. A factory steering wheel frames instrumentation including a 140-kph sweep speedometer, auxiliary gauges, and a five-digit odometer showing just over 91k kilometers (~57k miles). A trailer The 304ci V8 features red-painted valve covers and a factory-style air cleaner. New valve cover gaskets, an oil pressure sender switch, and a fresh battery have been added according to the seller, who also states that oil and coolant changes have been carried out. The carburetor was rebuilt in July 2020. Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels via a T-407 three-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case. Fresh transmission and differential fluids were added under the seller’s ownership. An oil leak is noted from the crankshaft seal. An owner’s manual and other manufacturer’s literature are included in the sale, as is the original line setting ticket affixed to the inner glovebox door. Walk-around, underside, cold-start, drive, and interior videos are viewable below.
