This 1978 International Harvester Scout II is a long-wheelbase Traveler model that is finished in white and black over tan leather upholstery and is powered by a 345ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes a removable tan SofTopper top, a 2.5″ Rough Country lift kit, a 1″ body lift, Holley Sniper fuel injection, Focal speakers, swiveling captain’s chairs, and a Retrosound push-button radio. Work performed under current ownership is said to include addressing rust in the floor pan, replacing the fuel tank, and rebuilding the steering box, stabilizer bars, and steering rods. The truck is said to have resided in Illinois and Georgia before it was acquired by the seller in 2018. This Scout II Traveler is now offered with a transferrable Georgia registration document in the seller’s name. The truck is finished in white and features black lower panels and multi-color side graphics as well as a tan SofTopper removable top. Additional exterior details include a receiver hitch, an antenna, and chrome bumpers, window surrounds, and mirror caps. The removed hardtop and rear hatch will accompany the truck. Paint blemishes and rust in the rockers, door corners, and lower body can be viewed in the gallery below. Black-finished 15″ wheels are wrapped in 33×12.5″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires with raised white letters. A 2.5″ Rough Country lift kit has been fitted under current ownership along with a 1″ body lift. The steering box was rebuilt and the stabilizer bars and steering rods are said to have been replaced under current ownership. The seller notes the steering is loose. The seats and door panels are said to have been reupholstered in tan Relicate leather with blue plaid inserts under current ownership. An under-dash air conditioning unit is installed, and equipment includes a woodgrain dashboard with a tan dash pad, swiveling front captain’s chairs, vent windows, lap belts, Focal speakers with a 10″ Rockford Fosgate subwoofer, and a Retrosound push-button radio. The floor is coated with Raptor Liner, and the seller reports that rust in the floor pan was repaired approximately two years ago. The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 100-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 13k miles, and total mileage is unknown. The 345ci IH V8 is noted to have been rebuilt under prior ownership in the 1990s and features a chrome air cleaner and a Holley Sniper fuel-injection system. Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The truck does not have a title, as it is registered in a state that does not issue titles for a vehicle of its age. It is being sold on its registration.
