This 1972 International Harvester Scout II is finished in yellow over a black interior and is powered by a retrofitted 5.3-liter Vortec V8 paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. It was acquired by the seller in California in April 2003 and underwent a refurbishment starting in 2013 which consisted of stripping and repainting the body, updating the drivetrain, and refinishing the interior. Equipment includes a removable white hard-top, aftermarket bumpers and rock sliders, a 2.5″ Rough Country suspension lift, air conditioning, cruise control, a roll cage, and Autometer instrumentation. This Scout II is offered with manufacturer’s literature, an Anything Scout build sheet, and a clean California title in the seller’s name. The truck was stripped in 2013 to bare metal and repainted yellow with a white removable hardtop. Equipment includes powder-coated Workman bumpers, rock sliders from Anything Scout, a hinged spare-tire bracket, and an exposed fuel cap. Paint discoloration and rust are noted on the hardtop seams. Black-finished 15″ alloy wheels are wrapped in 33×12.5″ Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires. A matching spare tire is mounted to a hinged bracket on the rear bumper. The suspension is equipped with a Rough Country 2.5″ lift and a 1″ silicone body lift. The brake lines were replaced during the refurbishment along with the brake booster. The cabin features Corbeau bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black upholstery and complemented by a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Additional features include sound insulation in the front compartment, air conditioning, cruise control, a locking center console with cupholders, and a roll cage. The headliner is missing and the windows are difficult to wind up and down. A three-spoke steering wheel is mounted on a tilting column and frames Autometer instrumentation including an electric 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer shows 2k miles, and true mileage is unknown. Play is noted in the tilting column. The 5.3-liter Vortec V8 was installed by Anything Scout in 2017. Modifications include an aluminum radiator with an electric fan, a cold-air intake, and a 3″ exhaust. An oil change was performed in March 2022. Power is delivered to the rear or all four wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The Dana 44 axles have 3.56:1 gears and are said to be sourced from a later Scout II. The frame was sandblasted and powder-coated black, the underbody was stripped and refinished, and a 30-gallon fuel tank was added. The line setting ticket shows factory options and equipment as well as internal build numbers. An owner’s manual is also included in the sale.
