This 1998 Honda Prelude Type SH was sold new in Indianapolis, Indiana and remained with its original owner until purchased by the seller two and a half years ago. Now showing 59,250 miles, the car was optioned with a leather interior, fog lights, and a factory alarm system when new. Recent modifications include Koni adjustable shocks, H&R Sport springs, Suspension Technique front/rear sway bars, upgraded braking components, and a Panasonic stereo head unit with upgraded door speakers. The 2.2-liter VTEC four-cylinder engine has been kept stock and is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. In February 2016, the timing belt and water pump were replaced, and the sale includes complete service records back to new. This Prelude is now being offered with a 230+ photo gallery, its factory owner’s manuals, some OEM spare parts, dealer brochures, all keys/remotes, and a clean Kansas title in the seller’s name. The seller states that to his knowledge, this Prelude retains all of its factory body panels and White Diamond Pearl paint. Exterior flaws are reportedly limited to some surface irregularities on the right-lower rear bumper, a small dent near the driver’s door handle, a few stone chips around the middle-front of the hood, and a couple of small scratches on the edges of the trunk-mounted spoiler. SH models utilize Honda’s Active Torque Transfer System (ATTS), a computer-controlled and clutch-activated mechanical torque vectoring system. Less than 1,500 miles ago the seller elected to upgrade suspension and braking performance. Adjustable Koni yellow shocks with H&R Sport springs have been set to factory ride-height, while Suspension Technique front/rear sway bars aid with mitigating chassis flex. Power Stop Z23 drilled rotors with ceramic brake pads replace the OEM components. Factory 16″ alloy wheels wear Kelly Charger GT tires showing 9/32″ and 8/32″ tread front and rear respectively. The wheels reportedly show a few flaws, and the factory black wheel liner coating is peeling in several areas per the seller. The dealer-installed leather upholstery is in nice shape front and rear aside from wear on the driver’s seat bolstering and a few smaller tears that have been stitched up and repaired accordingly. The trunk area is highlighted in the photo gallery, containing the factory spare and all original accessories. The seller states that there is a 1″ rust line on the trunk lid which can only be seen when open. A Wheelskin cover and ’06/07 Accord shift knob have been added, though the stock shift knob is included. A modern Panasonic head unit with new front 6.5″ door speakers replaces the factory components, which are also included with the sale. The seller sourced an OEM cassette player which is not installed as shown in the photo gallery. The 2.2-liter VTEC four-cylinder engine and 5-speed manual transmission have been maintained in stock condition. In February 2016 at 57k miles the timing belt/water pump were replaced, and in May 2017 at 59k miles the car received new spark plugs, a windshield washer pump, an O-ring gasket near the distributor, and a new air filter. The most recent oil change was completed on July 2, 2017. Service documentation back to new comes with the car, as does a notebook from the original owner recording oil changes and maintenance information. Also included are OEM oil/air filters, oil pan crush washers, two sets of new OEM wiper blades, and a new front emblem. The original owner’s manuals, warranty booklet, all keys/remotes, and dealer brochures are displayed in the photo gallery. Several undercarriage pictures are displayed in the photo gallery. Interested parties are encouraged to browse all 230+ pictures of this low-mile Prelude. An accident-free Carfax shows four owners, nine service history records, and registration in Indiana/Kansas. Three videos are also shown below:
