This 1979 Ford F-150 was repowered with a modified 429ci V8 mated to a rebuilt C6 three-speed automatic transmission as part of a project started by its previous owner and completed by the seller in 2019. Additional work included interior reconditioning, brake and steering overhauls, and replacement of the rear axle shafts as well as modifications such as a Pro Stock shift kit, slotted front brake rotors, MSD ignition components, an aluminum radiator, Edelbrock accessories, and more. This F-150 is offered with a bonded Texas title in the seller’s name. The body is finished in beige and brown with chrome bumpers as well as polished aluminum grille and side trim. Photos show dimples, dents, and worn finishes on several panels. Custom white oak bed stake sides have been stained in dark brown mahogany and mounted with stainless steel hardware. Body-colored 15″ steel wheels are shod in Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires which have reportedly been used for less than 2,000 miles. The rear drum brakes have been rebuilt with new springs, pads, and drums, while the front brakes feature replacement drilled and slotted rotors with single-piston calipers. The interior is said to have been stripped and repainted to match the exterior before being fitted with fresh carpets. The bench seat, door panels, headliner, and dash have been wrapped in new Italian bull hide. Replacement weather seals reportedly make the doors difficult to close. The factory air conditioning system has been flushed, recharged, and fitted with a new compressor, receiver drier, and lines. The stock radio has been replaced with a USA-630 stereo featuring an auxiliary input and a USB port, though it has reportedly stopped powering on. Infinity Reference door speakers have been installed, and an Infinity amplifier and MB Quart subwoofer are fitted behind the bench seat. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 82k miles, 1k of which have been added by the seller. An aftermarket tachometer is mounted on the dash. The stock 460ci engine has been replaced with a 429ci Cobra Jet V8 which was reportedly machined to Super Cobra Jet specifications with 11.30:1 compression under previous ownership and is shown idling in the video above. A Champion aluminum radiator and an MSD ignition setup have been fitted along with an Edelbrock air cleaner, valve covers, and intake manifold. The seller reports that the block was boiled, jetted, buffed, magnafluxed, bored .030″ over, line-honed, and fitted with rebuilt cylinder heads. Engine and transmission oil changes were carried out in September 2019. Power is transferred through a rebuilt C6 three-speed automatic transmission with a Pro Stock shift kit to a Ford 9″ rear end with 2.70:1 gears and replacement axle shafts. Additional work included refurbishing the power steering box and pump as well as installation of a new rag joint, bushings, tie rods, and hardware.
