ODOMETER
1921 Ford Model T

Chassis no. 5018662 176-cid, 20-hp inline L-head four-cylinder engine, two-speed planetary transmission, solid front axle and live rear axle with transverse semi-elliptic leaf springs, and two-wheel mechanical brakes. Wheelbase: 100-inches. When Henry Ford introduced a five-passenger closed car in 1915, he kept things simple and provided two doors only. In order to make access as easy as possible, the doors were located in the center of the cabin, giving rise to the nickname “center door” sedan. There were individual front seats, with room to pass between them, and a wide, three-person bench seat at the rear. The interior was very well appointed, particularly in comparison to open cars. A very good and well-kept restoration, this Model T Center Door has excellent contours and very good paint, compromised only by some thin spots from repeated polishing. It has chrome accessory bumpers, a bit tarnished but worthy of buffing. The roof is correct Ford artificial leather, and the cloth interior has a black-and-white check theme. The window escutcheons, inside and out, are varnished wood. The engine compartment is clean, the engine itself painted red and black. Detail is very good, while the undercarriage is of driver quality. Accessory directional signals have been unobtrusively fitted for driving in modern traffic. Center door Model Ts are among the rarest of the breed. A nice example of a low-production model, this one is ready to be enjoyed to the fullest.
