This 1966 Ford F-100 Custom Cab is a 2-owner example which was sold new by Hartz Motor Co. in Davis, California in March, 1966. The 352ci V8 is paired with a 3-speed manual, and the truck stayed in the Sacramento area with its original owner until 1998. The second owner purchased it with 95k miles and kept a detailed, handwritten log documenting 55k miles of use over the following 19 years, including running costs and maintenance. The short block for the 352ci Ford big block V8 was replaced in 2010, and the truck is fitted with an aluminum radiator. The seller notes extensive recent maintenance, including rebuilt front suspension with new kingpins and springs, new shocks all around and new brakes. This F-100 is sold by a dealer with a clean Oregon title. This F-100 is finished with Emberglow upper surfaces and Wimbledon White lower surfaces, which are believed to be the original colors. The space on the body tag which indicates the original color was left blank by the factory, which the seller states generally means a special order. The stock trim is intact, though some pitting and signs of age are visible. The seller notes that some body filler is present on the truck, most notably on the passenger-side front fender. The inside of the bed shows scratches and marks from use, but appears free of major dents. Some wear and holes are visible at the upper edge of the box consistent with an older pickup cap. A small spot of rust is noted at the front left corner of the bed. The seller had the bench seat reupholstered with two-tone Emberglow and white vinyl to match the exterior of the truck. The original tan seat cover has been retained, as the seller states that the original style covers could not be found. The floors are protected with fitted rubber mats, which appear to be in good condition, and the seller fitted new door seals. The headliner and steering wheel are both said to be original, though the latter shows some splitting in the rim. All of the instruments are said to work correctly, as are all of the other interior features, including the heater. Just over 50k miles are currently shown. The included maintenance log shows that the previous owner purchased the truck with 95k miles indicated, and the log tracks the mileage increase through the rollover to the present figure. Power comes from a 352ci Ford big block V8. The heads and manifolds are said to be original, though the maintenance log shows that the short block was replaced 11k miles ago in 2010. Trucks were not stamped with partial VINs, though the seller states that the replacement block is a correct 1966-production unit. Prior to the swap some oil consumption issues were noted, though the consumption is not apparent in the log following the swap. No deviations from stock are noted except for an aluminum radiator. The seller states that the truck runs very smoothly. Numerous photos of the underside of the truck are provided in the gallery. The seller notes extensive recent suspension work, including rebuilt front Twin I-Beam suspension with new bushings, kingpins, springs, and new shocks all around. The brakes are new as well, and are shown with the drums removed in the gallery. A detailed, handwritten log is provided from the previous owner, showing regular use and maintenance. In addition to logging the truck’s running costs, minor uses are logged, such as when the owner siphoned off five gallons of fuel for their mower in May 28th, 2007. Older records from the original owner track the truck’s history back to when it was sold new at Hartz Motor Co. in Davis, California in March, 1966. A detailed walkaround and drive video is provided above.
