ODOMETER
1936 Ford V-8 Deluxe

This 1936 Ford V-8 Deluxe Phaeton is reported as being purchased by a local New York collector in the early ‘70s from another collector in New York where the car was originally delivered. The current owner conveys that “both owners had the car stored in a climate controlled facility.” In 2014 it was disassembled and repainted due to a few spots of flaking paint. It is stated to be “the exact paint used by Ford in 1936.” The body was found to have “zero rust or previous repairs.” All of the wood supports in the doors and top are original and near perfect. The original side curtains are in their original case behind the rear seat. The car even has the original brake pads which required a notch adjustment on all four. Interior, dash and gauges are all original and work properly, plus the Ford has the original AM radio and clock on the rearview mirror. The Ford is reported to “start and drive perfectly.” The paint is no doubt better than new as no expense was spared. People urged the owner who painted the car to leave the paint alone, but “he couldn't resist. That’s why it is so well documented.” So, the current owner concludes, “the car has not been restored, just refreshed cosmetically.” He feels that this Ford “is a gorgeous piece of automotive history that has been preserved as nice as any. No telling what this car could be worth some day. Everything that came with the car originally is still with it now.” Body #68 750 2187. Tag number# 182914826
