The MG B GT was introduced in October 1965. Building on the success of MG A and MG B and based on the, already popular, roadster, the new GT sported a practical hatchback that gave useful access to the rear luggage space. The new model also benefitted from a rear bench seat that enabled the car to be called a 2+2.
