ODOMETER
1965 Bianchi Autobianchi Bianchina Berlina

The Bianchina is a minicar produced by the Italian manufacturer, Autobianchi and based on the Fiat 500. It was available in various configurations; Berlina (saloon), Cabriolet (roadster), Trasformabile (convertible), Panoramica (station wagon) and Furgoncino (van). It was presented to the public on 16th September, 1957 at the Museum of Science and Technology in Milan. Initially, the car was equipped with the smallest Fiat engine, an air-cooled 479cc producing 15hp but in 1959, the engine power was increased to 17hp and in 1960, the cabriolet version was launched. In the same year, the Trasformabile, whose engine cylinder capacity was increased to 499cc, was made available in a special version with bicolour paint and an engine enhanced to 21hp. In 1962, the Trasformabile was replaced by a four-seat saloon. The engine and chassis were the same as in the Trasformabile and in 1965, a minor facelift was implemented. This charming example was first registered in 1965; it is the Berlina version with an engine of 500cc developing around 18 horsepower. It has covered only 19,800km in 50 years and represents an opportunity to acquire a car that has matching numbers and an unusually low mileage. The interior is original and also benefits from an external re-paint in 2007. It has the greatest Italian certification for a historic car; the ASI Gold Plate and is equipped with number plates and documents of origin.
