1985 Bentley Turbo R
The Bentley Turbo R is a high-performance car which was produced from 1985 to 1999. The "R" stood for "Roadholding", to set it apart from its predecessor. It initially inherited the turbo-charged engine from the Mulsanne Turbo and also sported a re-tuned suspension and wider tyres on alloy wheels, a first for a Bentley. From the 1987 model year, however, the Turbo R's V8 engine was upgraded with fuel injection for added torque. Motor Trend called the Turbo R, "the first Bentley in decades deserving of the famous name". There were 5196 SWB and 2034 LWB models built. An early Bentley Turbo R Red Label, finished in Racing Green with a Light Cream interior, which consists of Red Piping on the Leather and contrasting red and green carpets, rugs and foot rests (which were all optional extras). The car also benefits from a push start button upgrade and a new digital radio. The owner has had the car for coming up to 5 years now and has said he has never had any issues with it. During the time of his ownership, he has had the car fully serviced, whilst also having the steering rack fully rebuilt by Phantom Motors Crondall. Mechanically, the car is perfect as a result. Described by the vendor as a highly original car in every aspect, with solid bodywork and its original well-conditioned interior; it has only done a warranted 70,300 miles from new. Moreover, the car contains a thorough history file, containing service receipts from new.
