ODOMETER
1993 Bentley Continental R

Since 1921, the Bentley name has remained synonymous with prestige, performance and luxury. The 'Continental' designation recalls the Bentley Continental of the post-war period. The 'R' resonates to the R-Type Bentleys from the 1950's as well as the Turbo R of the 1980's. Bentley's 1980's resurgence relied exclusively on models whose basic architecture was shared with other Rolls-Royce products; however, the Bentley Continental R was unique to the Bentley marque. Despite the need to incorporate non-traditional features such as doors recessed into the roof, the result looked every bit a Bentley, albeit one re-stated for the 1990's. Needless to say, the performance was outstanding, the combination of the Turbo R engine in the new wind-cheating shape cutting the 0-60mph time to under six seconds and boosting top speed to in excess of 150mph. This 1993 registered Continental R is finished in British Racing Green with a contrasting magnolia trim piped in Spruce Green and with Spruce Green carpets. The dark walnut facia, waist rails and centre console are synonymous with such a luxury marque. Aesthetically, a Continental R is a beautiful design but this example is further enhanced by the fitment of a chrome radiator grille and matrix. Supplied with a V5 registration document, a current MoT test certificate valid until November this year and a service history substantiating the low mileage, this represents excellent value in comparison to the price when new. To drive a Continental R is a memorable experience; this car represents an opportunity to acquire an extremely fine example of a superb motorcar.

FACT

Because, well, why not...?

When Pink Floyd designed the “Animals” album cover, the inflatable pig tied to the power station broke free, causing Heathrow Airport to cancel all their flights.
