This 2001 BMW Z8 has just under 15k miles and is one of 62 examples finished in Bright Red over a Crema soft leather interior. The car was purchased new by the current owner in 2001, and it has reportedly been garage kept for the past 17 years and serviced annually by a dealership. The 4.9-liter S62 V8 is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential, and modifications are reportedly limited to a set of K&N air filters. The original owner is older and unable to enjoy the car, and a family friend is assisting with the sale. This Z8 is now being offered in Greenwich, Connecticut with the matching factory hardtop, original window sticker, original coffee table book, service records dating back to new, a clean Carfax report, and a clear New Hampshire title. Production for the Z8 in 2001 totaled 970 cars, and this example is finished in Bright Red with a beige convertible top. The recent Carfax report indicates no history of accidents or other damage. Photos of the matching factory hardtop can be viewed in the gallery below along with its Z8-branded cover. The body is formed from aluminum with the exception of the bumpers, and the car also features an aluminum monocoque frame. Styling was heavily influenced by the 507, with the front mid-engine design incorporating a wide kidney grille, fender vents, and low belt line. The factory 18″ double-spoke alloys wear Continental Extreme Contact rubber. Crema Nappa leather lines the cabin, which is also equipped with matching carpets and polished black accents. The driver is met with a modern redux of the banjo steering wheel and a set of centrally-located gauges. Just under 15k miles are shown on the odometer. The 4.9-liter S62 V8 was rated for 394 horsepower when new, enough to launch the Z8 from 0-60 in 4.7 seconds. A 6-speed manual Getrag gearbox is responsible for transmitting power to the limited-slip rear differential. Routine service has been performed annually by the dealership, and service records dating back to new accompany the sale as shown in the gallery. Three factory keys, the glove compartment books, and original window sticker are also included, as is a rolling storage cart for the hardtop. The Carfax shows routine registration renewals with a single owner in New York, Connecticut, and New Hampshire.
