This 1987 BMW 325iS has spent much of its life in California and was acquired by the seller in August 2020, reportedly from its previous owner of 16 years. The car is finished in red over tan leather and is powered by a 2.5-liter M20 inline-six matched with a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes 14″ basketweave wheels, sport seats, a sunroof, cruise control, and an aftermarket Sony CD stereo with Bluetooth. The timing belt and tensioner, thermostat, water pump, fuel lines, spark plugs, and engine mounts are said to have been replaced under current ownership, and the car passed a California smog test in February 2021. This E30 is offered at no reserve with a smog certificate, an owner’s manual, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name. The body is finished in (138), and the seller reports having the front valance, side mirrors and hood repainted to correct rock chips and fading. Features include a model-specific front air dam with fog lights, a rear lip spoiler, chrome window trim and chrome-accented bumpers, pop-out rear windows, a sunroof, and black side moldings. Silver-finished 14″ basketweave wheels are wrapped in 195/70 BFGoodrich Advantage tires. The car rides on MacPherson struts in front and and semi-trailing arms and coil springs in the rear, and disc brakes are mounted at all four corners. The cabin features tan leather sport seats with matching door panels and carpeting. Amenities include cruise control, power front windows, air conditioning, and a Sony CD stereo with Bluetooth. The upholstery shows wear, including a tear in the driver’s seat outer bolster and ripping on the driver’s side kick panel. The onboard computer is inoperative, the driver’s seat adjustment mechanism cover trim is missing, the glovebox does not open, there is a crack in the dashboard, and the seller recommends recharging the air conditioner. An M-Tech I steering wheel sits ahead of VDO instrumentation that includes a 150-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, fuel economy, and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 190k miles, approximately 1k of which were added by the seller. The 2.5-liter M20 inline-six features Bosch Motronic fuel injection and was factory-rated at 168 horsepower. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Getrag five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Work performed under current ownership reportedly included replacement of the timing belt and tensioner, thermostat, water pump, fuel lines, spark plugs, engine mounts, catalytic converter, and cat-back exhaust, along with a rebuild of the shifter assembly and oil and coolant changes. The car passed a California smog test on February 1, 2021. Additional underbody photos are available in the gallery below. The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage and lists registration history in California from its first entry in 1991 through the most recent update in August 2020. A driving video is presented above, and a demonstration of the power windows is shown below.
