This 1960 Austin-Healey Sprite is a green-over-black convertible that is powered by a 1,275cc A-Series inline-four paired with a Datsun-sourced five-speed manual transmission and a 3.90:1 rear end. Additional equipment included fender-mounted mirrors, front disc brakes, and wire wheels. The car was purchased by the seller out of California in 2020, and subsequent work is said to have included installation of the transmission along with a general inspection, oil change, and fluid check. This Bugeye is offered in New Mexico with a Brooklands-style windscreen, a black soft top, a removable hardtop, a stock steering wheel, side curtains, manufacturer’s manuals, and a clean New Mexico title in the seller’s name. The body is finished in green and is believed to have been repainted during prior ownership. Equipment includes fender-mounted mirrors and rear bumperettes. A Brooklands-style windscreen is included in the sale and shown installed above and below, and additional equipment includes a black soft top, a tonneau cover, side curtains, and a removable hardtop, the latter of which requires refurbishment according to the seller. Chrome-finished wire wheels are secured with two-eared knock-offs and wear 165R13 Dunlop tires. The brakes have been upgraded with front discs, and the car is equipped with an anti-sway bar. The twin bucket seats are trimmed in black upholstery with white piping, and the car retains a dashboard-mounted mirror. Lap belts are equipped for both occupants. The banjo-style steering wheel frames a 100-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer. The five-digit odometer indicates 54k miles, approximately 1k of which have been added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown. The 1,275cc A-Series inline-four was installed during prior ownership and is equipped with a pair of SU carburetors. Power is sent through a Datsun-sourced five-speed manual transmission that was installed by the seller. A general inspection, oil change, and fluid check were completed in February 2021. Additional photos of the underside, suspension, floors, and 3.91:1 rear end are presented in the gallery below. Service manuals and an assortment of parts – including a Brooklands-style windscreen and a steering wheel – are included in the sale and are pictured further in the gallery below.
