ODOMETER
1972 Alfa Romeo Montreal V8 Bertone

1972 Alfa Romeo Montreal V8 Bertone Coupe, Only 38,000 Miles & two previous keepers from new, the current custodian of 14 years being a Dr of engineering. This very original 1972 Montreal comes with a fully comprehensive history file including: A wonderful hand written log from 1978 - 1980 detailing the various fuel stops made in dates & Miles including a trip to the South of France, a hand written note from the first owner to the second thanking him for his letter in which he got home safe in the car & wishes him the same great joy in the future with the Montreal as his family had. Also various correspondence from the Alfa Romeo owners club including a letter from Chris Slade (renowned Montreal Expert) confirming the build date & cementing its Historical taxation class here in the UK, a full workshop manual, factory Engine & Ignition Technical drawings, wiring diagrams, owners guide, Factory parts catalogue, correspodence from the Montreal owners club/website, various bills for recent suspension parts/work, bill for the full exhaust system totalling £426, MoT test certificates dating back to 1978, tax discs dating back to 1980, an MPH conversion decal, previous V5 Registration documents & a very special & unique licence plate from the 1967 'Montreal expo' in which the concept car was first shown & subsequently named after. A letter from Alfa Romeo HQ confirms that Chassis number 7551 was originally produced on the 31st December 1972 & finished in the rare colour of Metallized Silver (AR 741) With Grey/Black internal trim, delivered on 25th June 1973 to an Alfa Romeo dealership in Agno Switzerland, then onto Bell & Colvill in Surrey who's plaque is still found in the cars door shut, they were the official importers of the Montreal here in the UK. Today this example offers the rare chance to obtain an unrestored coach built Bertone Alfa Romeo Montreal that is complete & in fantastic mechanical health thanks to the careful nurturing from her dedicated custodians. The all important Type 33 dry sumped & Spica fuel injected V8 howls into life at the first turn of the key & sounds fantastic! The dog-legged 5 Speed gearbox sourced from ZF Is in rude health also. A Very simple & straight forward renovation is required for chassis 7551 & is truly deserved. Try finding another un restored low mileage & low owner example! FACT

Because, well, why not...?

When Pink Floyd designed the “Animals” album cover, the inflatable pig tied to the power station broke free, causing Heathrow Airport to cancel all their flights.

This is the only one of these in the database for the moment!
