This 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia 1600 Spider is finished in red with a black soft top over a black interior, and power is provided by a twin-cam 1.6-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The car is said to have been located in California since new, and the seller purchased it in 1977. A Weber DCD carburetor and Koni front shocks have been installed, and the seller had the car refreshed in the 1980s with an exterior repaint, refinished chrome trim, and a mechanical refurbishment. This 101-series Spider is now offered with spare Solex carburetors, a factory tool set, Giulia literature and manuals, service records dating back to the 1970s, and a clean California title in the seller’s name. The body was repainted in red in 1982 by Richard Pantzar Co. of Costa Mesa, California, per an invoice depicted in the photo gallery. Exterior features include a hood air intake, chrome bumpers and trim, and a Robbins Stayfast black soft top that can be seen raised in the gallery. The seller notes areas of paint checking on the rear of the car. Powder-coated 15″ wheels with chrome hubcaps are wrapped in 155-series Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. The suspension has been modified with Koni front shocks, and disc brakes are fitted up front with drum brakes at the rear. The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl over red carpeting with black rubber mats. The seller notes that the foam padding of the dash cover and of the seats could benefit from replacement. A full-size spare tire is stowed behind the seats, and an AM/FM radio is installed in the color-matched metal dashboard. Veglia instrumentation includes an 8k-rpm tachometer, a 140-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer displays just under 72k miles, approximately 50k of which have been added by the seller over 43 years of ownership. The twin-cam 1.6-liter inline-four produced 104 horsepower when new, and a Weber DCD carburetor and a 105 Veloce Spider camshafts have been fitted under current ownership. An inspection by Alfa Performance Connection of Orange, California in September 2020 found fluid leaks, a nonfunctional heater fan, and missing defroster ductwork which has since been reinstalled. The fluids were changed at the time of inspection, and the intake gasket was later replaced by the seller. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. The seller notes areas of corrosion on the underbody, and additional images of the underside are provided in the gallery below. Service records dating back to the 1970s are accompanied by manufacturer’s literature and other books. The removed Solex carburetors and included tool kit are also pictured. In-car driving footage is presented above, a walk-around video is below, and a cold start .
