The successor to the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT coupé was the 1750 GT Velocé. It was fitted with a larger engine of 1779cc capacity rather than 1590cc of the earlier model. For marketing purposes, the new GTVs were described as 1750s, a term that harked back to the success of the 1750s of the 1930s.
